All these years, computers are important part of everybody’s life. Basically a computer is designed to help us do office works like accounting or making reports. In the last decade, advancement of computer technology makes a computer able to do some multifunction including as a means of entertainment. People now can play games on computers, as well as watching television shows and movies. You can easily slip the card to your laptop and then you are ready to enjoy high definition entertainment. This is particularly convenient for laptop users, making it easier to carry it around. A PCI card is faster than the other type because it is directly connected to the motherboard. But this option is probably suitable only for advanced users because you need to open the case in order to insert the card, which takes more time and can be difficult for non-techies.

The second type is the USB tuner card. This is an external device that is easier to attach into your computer’s USB plug. This is why the USB tuner card is more popular and more convenient to use, especially for non-techies. And, it is cheaper. To choose which type of HDTV tuner card to get, you have to evaluate your computer skills, as well as the slots on your computer. You need to check the availability of your PCI slot or the USB connector. But most of all, before you buy a HDTV tuner card, you have to ask yourself whether you really need it or not.
