Recently the major manufacturer Philips has just announced their third generation of Aurea HDTV for 2009. In this year Philips LCD HDTV wants the upcoming IFA 2009 fair in Berlin to be used to present the third generation of their ultimate Ambilight television: Aurea. The Danish site, FlatpanelsDK, was the first to make a review on the first version of Philips LCD HDTV Aurea some time ago. And until then, Philips LCD HDTV actively introduced Aurea 2 and now here comes the third generation of Aurea. It will be revealed by Philips; the new Aurea TV at IFA 2009 in Berlin in September 2009. Philips Aurea is considered the ultimate manifestation of Ambilight, and so is in this third edition builds on this concept. But will it be incorporated some new technical features as well? Aurea 3 will be initially launched in a 40-inch version but it is believed that other sizes will follow soon after.

New elements including Philips Net TV, an Internet system that provides access to services such as YouTube and updates on weather and news will be added in it. It can also enable you to surf the Internet from the built-in browser. This LCD HDTV models will features DLNA as well, which is a wireless streams content such as music, movies and photos directly to the screen from a PC at home on your wireless home network. It also attached 5 HDMI inputs. The Ambilight system consists of 252 LEDs illuminates the Aurea’s transparent framework with colors according to the picture on the screen. This feature can calms the eyes and intensifies the atmosphere in the movie. It is also projected onto the wall behind the Aurea TV.

Other technical features include Philips LCD HDTV is a Full HD panel and 100Hz technology. The TV will also have a small extra remote control used to handle its most basic functions. The new Philips Aurea model is called 40PFL9904H. The price will be around 4000 Euro. We will know much more about the model this September when we are on the fair ground at IFA 2009 in Berlin.

The Philips LCD HDTV which is also known as the new Aurea keeps their same signature features, such as the transparent “active frame” with Ambilight Spectra, full glass front and distinctive design. The latest third generation Aurea now features 250 LEDs in the Acrive frame, for an “exact” Ambilight color matching that is being displayed on the high resolution screen. As you would expect from a high end Philips LCD HDTV the Philips 40PFL9904H features a Full HD / 1080p LCD resolution, and LED backlighting, that can save up to 40% in energy costs. The 40PFL9904′s screen claimed to have a very fast response time of just 2ms, with 100Hz Clear LCD technology doubles the frame rate, and eliminates any motion blur of image Judder from fast moving or panning scenes.

Other features embedded is including Perfect Pixel HD Engine, with very high 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for deep blacks and vivid colors. New features include Philips Net TV, with built in WiFi, giving you access to the Internet without needing to drag an Ethernet cable anymore. The special Philips LCD HDTV Aurea remote control has unique pear design, with a slider feature giving access to primary keys and it is back lit for use in a dimmed room or low light environment.
